About Me
As an internal medicine physician, one of my foundational principles is to meet people where they are. That means acknowledging the complexities of people's lives, and ensuring that our plans for their health are mindful of their reality and reflect their own definition of what's important. I dove into human-centered design because I want our health systems to meet people where they are.
I was introduced to design thinking through engineering, but taking time to do the UCLA Biodesign Fellowship and working at IDEO helped me expand my toolkit and solidify my broader take on how good design can improve health. I can toggle my zoom lens, focusing on elements of the design process or stepping back to understand overarching organizational milestones. I thrive in idea generation, fostering creative cultures willing to fail early to learn fast. I push at the boundaries of designing towards health equity, using co-design to amplify underrepresented voices and revamping methods as I learn more.
My husband and I are pawns in my husky dog's world. I refresh by playing outside. My family is Indonesian, and my roots were grown in Worcester, Massachusetts (aka Paris of the New Millenium.)
